(EXCLUSIVE) Ex ‘Black Ink Crew’ Reality Star Loses Million Dollar Lawsuit Against Producers Over Date Rape Claims
She also accused the producers of editing the footage to make her look like a slut. The suit also claimed that Estevez felt so violated that she had to quit the show. She filed suit demanding $1 million in damages.
The network and producers fired back at Estevez claiming she had no proof they played a role in her digesting the date rape drug and also she signed off on numerous released stating they could edit footage shot however they wished. They demanded the lawsuit be thrown out and the ex-cast member be awarded nothing.
Then on April 7th, the NY judge came back with his decision and sided with the show producers and VH1. The order states that Estevez failed to show any evidence that connected the producers to her being date raped. The judge says the original complaint stated that person who gave her the drink was unknown but in the amended complaint she named the person as her cast mate, Oh Sh-t (born Richard Duncan). The judge says there was no explanation why that changed during the course of the legal battle.
Further, the order says that Estevez didn’t provide any contractual evidence to show that she even had a relationship with the producers of the network. Therefore the case was dismissed and Estevez was awarded nothing.
