Confirmed: Fantasia Rushed to Hospital, Medication Overdose

Written by thejasminebrand in Uncategorized

Via TMZ, Fantasia’s reps have confirmed that she was rushed to a hospital, due to a medication overdose.

As most of you know, Fantasia was accused of having an inappropriate relationship with Paula Cook’s husband, Antwaun. There’s an alleged tape of “recorded their illicit activity.” A lawyer for the singer said the woman, Paula Cook, used Barrino’s name to “sensationalize that litigation and to insure that her tale would be picked up by tabloids.” Barrino’s condition is not life-threatening, sources tell WCNC.com.

Updated: Ricky & Jeezy Respond to BMF Beef

Written by thejasminebrand in Uncategorized

Jeezy and Rick Ross (Compliments of grind365.com)

Folks are speculating on Young Jeezy’s recent remix ‘Death Before Dishonor’ (BMF Remix). His version is a remix to Rick Ross ‘Blowin’ Money Fast.’ The verse in question is, “How you Blowin’ Money Fast?/ You don’t know the crew/ Oh, you part of the fam?/ Sh–, I never knew.”

Check the Youtube clip of the song or download it here.

[youtube=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rZHmllZOAEo]

Rick Ross responds to MTV News about Jeezy’s version, “I haven’t had a chance to talk to the homie. I really don’t know what the thought process was behind it. My record was called ‘Blowin’ Money Fast.’ It confused me that if it was called ‘The Real B.M.F.,’ I would have called it ‘The Black Mafia Family.’ … You know, you may have to ask him. Other than that, we still reppin’, we still riding, and [my] record is getting love everywhere. So it’s all good.”

Update: Yesterday, Young Jeezy responded to the fake beef. “First of all, I’m not gonna get nothing out of dissing that guy. That’s one. What am I gonna get out of dissing him? I think sometimes people can read into things too deep. They trippin’, man. They crazy out there. Basically, if homie takes that as a dis, he’s insecure. When it comes to that [Black Mafia Family] situation, I’m gonna talk about it a little flyer anyway. I happen to know that situation very well. But basically [‘Death B4 Dishonor’], it’s off a mixtape that’s coming out. My mixtape is coming out on Thursday, it’s called 1,000 Grams. I took all the records I liked and flipped them my way. It’s a gang of records on there like that. It’s like 12 joints, all records that I heard in the club that I like and flipped them my way.”

Jeezy’s new mixtape, 1,000 Grams, drops Thursday.

 Here’s the trailer: [youtube=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SicGk3-bP58]

Update: After the screening, Idris Elba dj’ed @ dc’s new club, Eden (the old Eye Bar). Raheem Devaughn, Wale and T.I. also partied on Eden’s rooftop. According to my girlfriend, there were groupies all over the place (are we surprised?)–nothing wrong with that. We all hafta eat. And according to Page Six, Tip doesn’t like cigarette smoke, nor women that smoke. Apparently, Tip ordered 18 bottles of Ciroc (who’s counting) and when a girl in VIP lit up a jack, he politely (he’s sourthern, so I’m assuming he’s polite) asked her to one herself. The end.

This morning  Tuesday morning, Tip stopped by Bigg Tigger’s Morning Show. The interview focused on his upcoming movie. Tigger attempted to throw a subtle wedding congratulatory to Tip. Tip politely said “thank you,” but shut the subject down. (….Good for him. We saw the damn bootleg wedding photos-enuff….) I’ll post the audio and photos lata.

Throwback, Jay-Z Talks Trap (Danny Dan from BK, Segway into Va's Game, etc.)

Written by thejasminebrand in Uncategorized

I bet you totally forgot about this article. If you’re my age (mind your business), you read Dream Hampton’s 1998 interview in Vibe where Jay-Z speaks candidly about his days hustling–mainly in Virginia. You can see Dream Hampton’s full interview with Jay-Z here, but since his memoir’s coming out in November, it’s only appropriate that we re-live the old way Jay use to tell his business ;-) Peep a few snippets below:

_____________________________________________________________________________

The one name that is a constant in relationship to Jay, from believers and non believers alike, is Danny Dan—also from Bedford-Stuyvesant’s Marcy Houses. It is said that when Dan was buried in the late ’80s, he was wearing at least $100,000 worth of jewelry. His funeral, which was talked about for five years after, was one huge fashion show. But more than the jewelry or the girls in furs is the remarkable detail that Danny Dan died with a will. “Danny Dan was a cat in the projects, coming up,” says Jay. “He was very influential in my life, but from afar. Holmes was doing it. He’d always put something away, not touch it. I was like, I need to be doing that.” Danny Dan was five years older than Jay and was know for being the kind of reckless driver who would push German sedans past 100 m.p.h. down New York’s crowded streets. “He always said he’d die in a car crash, and he did,” say Jay. “Coming back from D.C. on I-95.” Those that talk say Danny’s death left a vacancy, further south, in Virginia and that Jay moved on it, opened it up further, and creamed off.

I ask him how a city (she’s referring to his segway hustling into Virginia’s market) is opened and am surprised by the answer. “Everything that has ever happened has to do with a girl.” Not that shit about blaming women’s obsession with Dynasty on your appetite for destruction. “No, no, far more specific. You meet somebody and befriend her. You need her and the most thorough nigga in town. Because girls yap, she’ll tell you who that is, who has money. You meet him; you’ve got something for him—better prices. He’ll bring everybody else in line.” And resistance?

“A lot of little fires. But in small towns you ain’t wildin’ out. You go to jail. This is like a Commonwealth; they’ll lock you up for cursing. It takes a special nigga to do a small town. Anybody can D.C. You strong-arm D.C. Ya’ll can shoot at each other every weekend.” D.C. Exactly. Locals there got so fed up with New York frontiersman they began firing at almost anything with a N.Y. license plate. “I know. It was sweet for a minute, New York niggas fucked up. A lot of shit happened ’cause of bitch.” Ho-hum. “You gotta believe that. You go into a nigga’s town, you shining, and you messing with all their broads. You go into their town; drive whatever you want. Shine, fine. But don’t fuck my baby’s mother, man. And my man’s baby’s mother and his man’s baby’s mother. ‘Cause now we sitting at Sizzler like this nigga fucked all our baby’s mothers. Now it’s a problem.”

Can’t wait for the memoir!

The Drama Behind DeShawn Snow's Divorce to Husband

Written by thejasminebrand in Uncategorized

Back in May, we heard that former Real Housewives of Atlanta cast member, DeShawn Snow, was divorcing her husband Eric Snow. At the time, no one seemed to be revealing info on why the couple was breaking up, until a week or so ago. According to Straight from the A, Eric Snow not only has a mistress, but he also had a child with his mistress. Click here if you’d like to see photos and whatnot of the alleged couple and baby.
