Bill Cosby Accused Of Drugging & Raping Actress Lili Bernard, Who Appeared In ‘The Cosby Show’, In New $125 Million Lawsuit

While Bill Cosby may have gotten released from prison earlier this year, he now has another legal matter on his hands.

Yesterday (Thursday, Oct. 14th), actress Lili Bernard filed a lawsuit against Bill Cosby. In the new case, Lili Bernard accuses the disgraced comedian of drugging and raping her in Atlantic City, New Jersey around August 1990. Lili Bernard says that, after meeting Bill Cosby on the set of The Cosby Show, he offered to take her under his wing and mentor her. He also allegedly warned her of “the sexual pressures of Hollywood.”

During the late summer of 1990, Bernard claims Cosby invited her to Atlantic City with him under the premise of meeting a producer to help further her career. However, while at the Trump Taj Mahal (now known as the Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Atlantic City), Lili Bernard says Bill Cosby allegedly drugged her. After feeling “symptoms of dizziness, an urge to vomit, and weakness”, Bernard said she passed out. While coming in and out of consciousness, Lili Bernard says she saw Bill Cosby allegedly undressing and–ultimately–raping her.

Bernard also alleges that Bill Cosby threatened to “erase” her if she told authorities about the alleged sexual assault. In the lawsuit, she says she’s suffered mental, psychological, and physical trauma, and she’s resultingly seeking $125 million in damages. Regarding the matter, Lili Bernard commented:

“I have waited a long time to be able to pursue my case in court and I look forward to being heard and to hold Cosby accountable for what he did to me. Although it occurred long ago, I still live with the fear, pain and shame every day of my life.”

She also seemingly addressed the filing on Instagram. Underneath a photo alongside her attorneys, Bernard in part wrote:

“Today is the first day of the rest of our lives. God bless us all. Grateful to my attorneys Jordan Merson and Jordan Rutsky for their compassion and expertise.”

In response to the lawsuit, Bill Cosby‘s spokesman–Andrew Wyatt–stated:

“This is just another attempt to abuse the legal process, by opening up the flood gates for people, who never presented an ounce of evidence, proof, truth and/or facts, in order to substantiate their alleged allegations. Mr. Cosby continues to maintain steadfast in his innocence and will vigorously fight ANY alleged allegations waged against him and is willing and able to take this fight to the highest court in these United States of America.”

Notably, Lili Bernard‘s lawsuit isn’t the only matter Bill Cosby has to deal with. As previously reported, the 84-year-old comedian is due in court this April to face allegations that he sexually assaulted a 15-year-old girl in 1974.
