“Malcolm X” Movie To Be Inducted into Library of Congress

The Library of Congress announced on Tuesday (Dec. 28th) that Spike Lee’s 1992 movie, “Malcolm X,” will be preserved as part of its National Film Registry. The goal of the registry is to preserve films with artistic, cultural or historical significance.

For his performance as Malcolm X, Denzel Washington was nominated for Academy Award for Best Actor. He lost to Al Pacino. According to Box Office Mojo, the grossed a total of $48,169,610. Congrats, Mr. Lee!
