Alexander McQueen’s “Savage Beauty” Hits NYC

In 2011, and at the age of 40, British fashion designer, Alexander McQueen died. And while friends and fans continue to mourn his loss, the Metropolitan Museum’s Costume Institute is showcasing McQueen’s, “Savage Beauty.” McQueen’s successor, Sarah Burton shared, “He really loved the shows. He used to say, ‘This is the last big one we’re doing,’ but he couldn’t help himself. [He] just didn’t like doing normal catwalk shows and so much was expected of him.” “Savage Beauty” includes nearly two hundred pieces from his 19-year-long career and runs at the from May 4 – July 31, 2011.
