“The album was recorded over a year between the spring of 2010 and the spring of 2011, while Beyonce took time away from the spotlight. She engaged in what she describes as simple things, including listening to every kind of music she truly enjoys. Her mixed musical gumbo will be displayed on the upcoming album. The title signifies not only the artist’s fourth solo offering and the day of her birth but it is also a personal gift to her fans. For over one year now her fans around the world took to their social media pages urging her to name the album for her special number. The intensely anticipated video for the album’s lead single, “Run The World (Girls),” made its premiere on American Idol tonight. The online debut of the full-length video immediately followed at www.beyonceonline.com.”
