Actress Lauren London Drops Jewels On Being Single, “If you hate being alone you’ll hate being single.”
Actress Lauren London has returned to the spotlight and is starring in the new VH1 reality show, ‘Single Ladies.’ The comedic drama is about three best friends with different philosophies on sex and relationships. The show stars Stacey Dash, LisaRaye McCoy and Charity Shea. Lauren London, who plays a reoccurring role, talks with Essence about working with actress Lisa Raye, motherhood (she has a child with Lil Wayne) and being single.
On being single: “People should accept being single, because those are the moments you can really focus on yourself, and learning who you are . Then when you get in a relationship, you will be stronger and have a little bit more self-awareness, self-love, and the other ingredients for a healthy relationship. I like being in relationship because of the comfort it provides. However, right now, in my life being a mother, and working on my career – I’m cool with where I’m at, because I know it’s not always where I’m going to be, so I’m enjoying my single experience. Is being single hard? It depends where your mind is. If you are focused, being single is an enjoyable experience, but if you hate being alone you’ll hate being single. I think it depends on the individual and where they are in life.”
On working with cast-mate, Lisa Raye: “I really enjoyed working with Lisa Raye. She’s a single mother as well and she handles her business.”
