Talib Kweli & The Roots Attempt to “Rebuild The Dream”

Talib Kweli and The Roots have taken civic activism to a new level. They have teamed up with MoveOn.org to launch “Rebuild The Dream.” “Rebuild The Dream” is a non profit organization who’s mission is to “protect and expand America’s middle class.” They explained to AllHipHop.com that the origins of the organization is deeply rooted in the community. They also noted that “countless Americans continue to face high unemployment, low wages, home foreclosures and little hope about their economic future,” which prompted them to take a stance and make a difference. The Roots, Talib Kweli, Forest Whitaker and others launched the campaign last week at an event held at Town Hall in NYC’s West Side. Sweet! Source
