Hell, Mayhem & Drama…My Beyonce GMA Experience

True Story…my intern Kamaria stood in that line to see Beyonce’s Good Morning America performance…Peep her account of how it all went down :(

Yes, I was one of the fans Stans who stood in line for HOURS just to see Beyonce but never got in. I probably would’ve if it wasn’t for that SHHMMAACKKK sound that hit the air around 6:30am. “That Girl Hit Somebody In The Head With Her Lounge Chair!” somebody yelled before the crowd split into immense chaos. People of all races, sizes and sexual orientations began running in various directions, knocking the innocent and confused folks like myself, as they went.

After realizing that people behind us kept getting out of the line, walking towards the front and skipping, we tried to devise a new plan. Should we try to skip too and risk being yelled at and snitched on? Should we leave? Or…maybe we should just try running across, to the stage, and hope that security didn’t catch us.

RUN! We grabbed hands and fled across the platform, jumping over 2 dividing barricades as we went, giggling from the adrenaline rush and thinking that we were finally in. WRONG! The stands had already been filled to capacity and security was no longer letting anyone inside to sit or stand near the stage. All we could do was listen, not see. At this point I went to pee behind a few bushes since the Port-A-Potty’s were disgusting and then took a seat on a bench to finally rest. We were about to leave when a family of 3 accompanied by another man asked if we wanted Backstage Pass wristbands. They handed us 5 after telling us to make sure we looked up their daughter Lexi St. George’s music online.

Wristbands fastened tightly to our skin, we rushed back to the security and made up the story, “We just had to go meet our mom really quickly, can you let us back in?” The security guard shook his head no, “All Exits Are Final.”

*Sigh. What else could we have tried? I guess it just wasn’t meant to be. I had to come home exhausted and watch this footage just like all the other normal people. Shout out to Lexi St. George, her parents and her star coach for trying to help. We later found out that she was the opening act for Beyonce.

Hopefully, I’ll have better luck next time!
