Union Workers Pissed Over Jay-Z’s 40/40 Renovations, Drop N-Bomb

Jay-Z’s 40/40 club in Manhattan has been undergoing a $10 million renovation since June. Jay is looking to add a runway, pool tables, chandeliers and VIP lounges. But so far he hasn’t been having such good luck with his endeavors. Union workers have been angry with him since earlier this month because Jay has hired Nonunion carpenters. So they have decided to protest. They put 5 blow-up rats outside of the club. But that’s normal for protesting carpenters. The unexpected part is that now, according to NYDailyNews, the workers have been shouting the word nigger as a part of their protests. The management team has even gotten a few nasty phone calls, in which the protestors have called team members the n-word. Jay’s rep, Lauren Menache, said,
“The union is trying to bully 40/40 to hire union workers. They were shouting racial slurs. It was really inappropriate protesting.” Menache also said that the 40/40 club is in a Nonunion building. “We confirmed that we have the right to hire a contractor that is not in the union.”
This was Jay-Z’s first of three 40/40 locations. It was opened in 2003 and has gotten a great response from the public. The club is supposed to reopen in November.
