Is This Amy Winehouse Sculpture Artistic or Inappropriate?

Is it me or is this scultpure of the late Amy Winehouse, effing weird? The statue was designed by a dude named Daniel Edwards. We hear that he’s a pretty famous sculptor and he created this peice (Memorial Portrait for Amy Winehouse)  as a tribute to Winehouse.  Edwards explained:

“I thought of her as a beautifully delicate fairytale princess, waiting to be rescued from fame and addiction, but her prince never came. I had always expected to sculpt her portrait, but I was waiting for her to put some of her troubles behind her.  She had made me pay attention to contemporary music again.”

Is this creepy or am I lacking an artistic eye? Source
