Philly Tenants Say Jay-Z Sucks As A Landlord
Just as the 40/40 Club storm clears, Jay-Z is hit with another controversy in relations to one of his business ventures. This time, the rapper/mogul/future baby-daddy is accused of harassing his tenants of an upscale apartment building in Philly. Some former residents went to Fox News about the bullying they claimed came from Jay-Z‘s lawyer.
One resident told the news network:
“I’ve been in tears over this…They filed a lawsuit against me knowing that I had paid the rent. The lawyer admitted it to me, yet they still filed the lawsuit against me…It’s total and utter harassment.”
Residents also claimed the lawyer went so far as to give out tenant’s personal cell phone numbers to Realtors, who tried to show the apartments before they were even put on the market.
The residents of the building contacted their Senator, Larry Farnese to intervene. In a letter, Senator Farnese requested that
“management thoroughly investigate each complaint and handle each tenant on a case-by-case basis, and determine if eviction was appropriate, or if it was not.”
Jay-Z nor his camp have commented on the allegations or Senator Farnese’s letter.
