Freaknik Moves To Miami

Depending on how old you are, you may or may not remember a huge spring-break event held annually in Atlanta, called FreakNik. The event began in 1982 as a small picnic at Atlanta University. In the 90’s it became much bigger and in 1996 the event moved and eventually died down. Fast forward to the present day and rumor has it, FreakNik has been re-created. A website, Twitter account, and Facebook page have confirmed that the event will take place in Miami. One of the sites shared:
“We are bringing you a Freaknik experiences bigger, badder, and sexier, then you have ever known before. Only this time, we are taking Freaknik to a place that it has never been, a place that can only house a Freaknik of this magnitude… MIAMI, FLORIDA. Prepare for the ride of your lives as we bring you Freaknik Miami.”
The event is scheduled to take place next year, March 8–11th. Yikes. Source
