Hustle Harder :: Will & Jada Invest In Philadelphia 76ers

Will Smith and his wife Jada Pinkett-Smith have joined Jay-Z, Marc Antony, Serena and Venus Williams and Fergie in the list of celebrities that have successfully invested in professional sports teams. Marc Anthony, Fergie and the Williams sisters bought a stake in the Miami Dolphins football team back in ’09 and earlier this year, Jay-Z invested in the New Jersey Nets.

Although no official statement has been released from Will and/or Jada, NY billionaire Joshua Harris who is heading the group of investors in the Philadelphia 76ers said,
“My partners and I are thrilled to have become owners of the Sixers. It is an honor to become part of this storied franchise. We have a lot of work to do, but we have a rich history, a strong foundation and a bright future.”
The $280 million dollar deal was much needed for Smith’s hometown team. The team guard Evan Turner tweeted his appreciation.

Well the Fresh Prince is staying true to his roots. “West Philadelphia, born and raised,” was the famous phrase. Hopefully they overcome this NBA lockout so we can not only watch our favorite teams but also peep the star studded audience right?
