Fact or Faction :: Taraji P. Henson Announces Music Career

Those who missed the “Black Girls Rock” Award show also missed a big announcement from actor Taraji P. Henson. While on the stage to accept her award, Taraji informed the audience that she has recently signed a record deal and will be starting a music career. But she stressed that she won’t produce just any type of music, she wants it to be the good kind. Peep her quote:
“I just signed a contract for a record deal. I did, but it has to be something special. I’m not interested in disposable music. I believe people want to hear it, so you have to give the people what they want.”
Taraji’s acting roles are numerous. She’s played in “Baby Boy,” “The Curious Case of Benjamin Button,” and “I Can Do Bad All By Myself.” She has also appeared on TV shows, and music videos, with her most recent appearance in Tyrese’s new video “Stay.” The only time the public has ever gotten to hear Taraji take a stab at singing was in the movie “Hustle and Flow.” She sang the chorus for the Three 6 Mafia song that later won an Oscar, “It’s Hard Out Here for A Pimp.” According to Taraji this new record deal is not about the money, but about exploring her God-given talent.
Meanwhile, on Monday (October 17th) one of Taraji’s reps denied the truth to her statement, and said that he actually think she was joking. IDK, we shall see.
