Comedian Will Ferrell Responds to ‘N*ggas in Paris’ Sample

It turns out that comedian Will Ferrell, was pleasantly surprised and flattered that Kanye West and Jay-Z chose to sample him on their popular single, “N*ggas in Paris.” The song, which is on their latest joint album, Watch the Throne, samples one of Ferrell’s lines from his movie, Blades of Glory. Ferrell told MTV,
“Kanye reached out to me and I said, ‘Of course.’I was completely flattered when they asked if they could sample me into the song … and when I heard it for the first time, I just started to laugh because it felt so surreal. But I really did like the song.”
Ferrell also explained that Jay and Ye were trying to include some of the movie footage in the video treatment, during their concert.
“We were trying to film a piece that they would use on the video boards of their concert, but haven’t gotten it together. I think [something from] ‘Step Brothers’ would be good [to use in a song]. Or the Woody Allen movie I did, ‘Melinda and Melinda.'”
