Common & “Hell On Wheels” Get Second Season

Great news for Common fans! The dramatic TV series, Hell On Wheels, which airs on AMC, has been renewed for a second season. The series, which co-stars Common (real name Lonnie Rashid Lynn, Jr.) centers on the settlement that accompanied the construction of the first transcontinental railroad, (hence “Hell on Wheels”) by the company men, surveyors, support workers, laborers, prostitutes, mercenaries and others.

In the series, Common plays Elam Ferguson, a recently freed slave who is trying to find his place in the world. According to The Hollywood Reporter, the show, which debuted in November, had an impressive 4.4M viewers. The season finale is set or January 15th. No further details on the second season have yet been revealed.
