The Original Aunt Viv Says, “Will Smith Is An A**hole!”

Wonder what ever happened to the original Aunt Viv from the Fresh Prince of Bel Air? If you recall, the original Aunt Viv was played by Janet Hubert, who played Aunt to Will Smith, the star of the show. Janet played Aunt Viv for three seasons ( from 1990-1993), and was replaced by Daphne Maxwell Reid. There are conflicting reports as to why she did not return after season 3. Some reports share that she left due to a violation of contract, that resulted when she became pregnant. But Janet paints a different story. She recently told TMZ that she was fired because she wouldn’t kiss Will Smith’s butt. She explained,

“There will never be a reunion … as I will never do anything with an a**hole like Will Smith….He is still an egomaniac and has not grown up. This constant reunion thing will never ever happen in my lifetime unless there is an apology, which he doesn’t know the word.”

Meanwhile, no official word from Will, besides a comment that he made in 1993. Of her departure, he told a radio station:

“[Hubert] said once, ‘I’ve been in the business for 10 years and this snotty-nosed punk comes along and gets a show.’ No matter what, to her I’m just the AntiChrist.”
