Eazy-E’s Son Did Not Die In Car Crash, But Others Did

Friday, rumors hit that the son of late Eazy-E, Eric Wright Jr. (rap name Lil Eazy-E), had died in a car crash in East Texas. It turns out that although he was not involved in the crash, other people, one of whom was a relative of his did die. Eric’s name was on the rental car (one of the cars involved in the accident) and he was mistakenly identified. Eric clarified that he was not involved in the collision via twitter:

Those who were reportedly killed in the rental car were: Debra Thompson, Curtis Sanders, Michael Mathis and Lawrence Bridnac III. Those killed in the other car were Sonia de la Torre (who was 29-years-old) and her three young children (who were 8, 6 and 10 months old). According to the Associated Press,

One of the vehicles crossed the center line, but it’s not clear why. The fiery wreck occurred on a curve about a mile outside of Annona, a town about 150 miles northeast of Dallas. Authorities said there were no witnesses to the crash on a remote stretch of U.S. 82, and everyone in both vehicles were killed. There were no skid marks, and investigators do not know how fast the vehicles were traveling.

Extremely sad news.
