Kim Kardashian Hits “Live w/ Kelly”, Breaks Silence :: Denies Marrying Humphries for Business

On Monday, 31 year old Kim Kardashian co-hosted “Live! with Kelly” with Kelly Ripa. While there, she talked about all the negative rumors that surfaced when she divorced her ex-husband, 26-year-old NJ Nets player Kris Humphries, after just 72 days of marriage. Much of the public was convinced that Kim married and divorced Kris so quickly just to make money off of the publicity. But according to Kim, those rumors are false and ridiculous. Peep what she had to say.
On if her marriage was a business stunt:
“If you really think about [it], if this was a business decision and I really made all that money that everyone was claiming that we made off this wedding, and if the wedding was fake and just for TV — I’m a smart businesswoman, I would have stayed married longer. This was a bad business decision. If you really think about it, it doesn’t make sense that everyone says that. I really didn’t think that following my heart would create this much backlash.”
On how her divorce affected her:
“I thought I could do it. I’m a hopeless romantic. I fell in love and I thought it could work just like the examples that I saw. I think I learned that I just really need to rewrite my fairytale… It’s been a hard couple of months. I moved in with my mom – half the time with Kourtney [Kardashian] and half the time with my mom. So, I’ve just been spending a lot of family time. I went to my mom’s, I brought two pairs of sweatpants and a pair of pajamas. That was it. I really did some soul searching. I needed that. I just needed to be with the family.”
Well, we’re glad she finally spoke up and told her side of the story. Peep the footage.
