Beyonce & Jay-Z Attempt to Trademark Their Baby’s Name

The Washington Post reports that Jay-Z and Beyonce recently filed an application with the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office to protect their newborn daughter’s name, Blue Ivy Carter. Last month, we shared that a designer (by the name of Joseph Mbeh) tried to trademark the name for a baby clothing line, while another applicant attempted to trademark the name for a fragrance line. According to reports, both applicants have been denied. However, a boutique in Wisconsin was successful in trademarking “Blue Ivy”, back in 2011, before Beyonce and Jay-Z’s baby was born.
