The Wire’s Michael K. Williams To Play Ol’ Dirty Bastard In Biopic, “Dirty White Boy”

The casting process for an upcoming biopic went through the wire, literally. After playing a hardcore stick up man, on “The Wire” and a bootlegger, on “Boardwalk Empire,” Michael K. Williams is now set to portray the late rapper, Ol’ Dirty Bastard (real name Russell Jones) in a new movie. The film, titled “Dirty White Boy,” will be based on the life of Jarred ‘Dirty White Boy’ Weisfeld, who started as a VH1 intern, then eventually became ODB’s manager. The film, directed by Joaquin Baca Asay, will focus on Weisfeld’s career rise and his relationship with Ol’ Dirty Bastard. In a statement, one of the film’s producers, Todd Hagopian, shared his thoughts on Williams being casted as Ol’ Dirty Bastard. He stated,
“I know Michael K. Williams will leave audiences completely in awe as Russell Jones, the man behind the character Ol’ Dirty Bastard.”
The role of Weisfeld has yet to be filled. Being that this movie will be a comedy and drama, who would you like to see alongside Williams, playing the role of ‘Dirty White Boy’?
