[VIDEO] Rita Ora Talks Journey With Roc Nation With Paper Mag

Vinny Guadagnino (from “Jersey Shore”), Kreayshawn, and others accompany new Roc Nation signee, Rita Ora, on Paper Mag‘s list of Beautiful People of 2012. From the short interview, readers learn a little about Rita’s rise to fame. Of her upbringing, we learned that Rita was born in Kosovo, and grew up in London. She went to a theater academy and worked at a shoe store throughout high school. Luckily for her, she recorded her first song, “I’ll Be Waiting,” and was soon discovered by an A&R agent, who passed her on to Jay-Z. Just two short days later, Jay requested that she meet him in New York. Rita said,
“I flew straight from London. I didn’t even have time to wash. When I shook Jay’s hand I was like, ‘Oh. My. God.’ We went to the studio, and that was it.”
Wow. That was easy. Now that she’s signed to Roc Nation, I’m assuming we can expect some hits from her upcoming album, which will be hitting shelves in the Fall of 2012, especially since both Drake and The Dream will be on the project. Of her album, Rita said,
“My vision is to create music that can help people to think that they can do the same thing. Because you can. I want to create a language that’s got no boundaries.”
