Will You Be Tuned In :: NBC Greenlights New African American Sitcom, ‘The First Family’

This can either be REALLY good, or REALLY problematic. Comedian and CEO of Entertainment Studios’ Byron Allen has just received the green light by NBC for a sitcom called, The First Family. The shows cast will include Christopher B. Duncan (who played on The Jamie Foxx Show) and Kellita Smith (who played on The Bernie Mac Show) as the President and his wife, with Gladys Knight playing the president’s mother, along with Jackee Harry, Marla Gibbs and John Witherspoon. Allen, the show’s creator shared:
“There’s a huge shortfall of quality family sitcoms, and we are 110-percent committed to filling that enormous void.”
The show will air this fall; will you be tuned in? [Loop 21]
