Mary J. Blige To Sing National Anthem At The Kentucky Derby + My Life II Goes Gold

After causing an industry uproar with her now infamous chicken wrap Burger King commercial, Mary J. Blige is ready to redeem herself. The R&B queen is slated to sing the National Anthem at the 138th Kentucky Derby. Mary will kick off the festivities with her own rendition of the “Star-Spangled Banner” on May 5 at the Louisville Track. Hopefully Mary’s performance will be as successful as her latest album, “My Life II: The Journey Continues (Act 1).” The RIAA has confirmed that, after six months of being on the shelves, the album has been certified gold. Welcome back Mary!
