[Video] Tank Airs Brian McKnight Out for New Song, “He’s 57 years old with a mohawk…”

R&B singer, Tank, is set to release his fifth album, “This Is How I Feel,” on May 8th. The ladies’ heartthrob appeared on Chicago’s The Morning Riot radio show to discuss the album and other current events, plus his very entertaining perspective on Brian McKnight’s latest ‘adult’ song. Peep some excerpts.
On how he feels about music right now:
“I’m feelin’ mad aggressive son. I just felt like I wanted to do what I wanna do. When we make records, we’re always trying to consider all these different things: radio, video, this genre of people, is it gonna go to AC, is it gonna go to mainstream? I said, Imma just make an album, man… If it sounds good to me, I’m rolling wit it. And that’s what I did.
On if he gets competitive with the younger artists in the game:
“I’m always competing. I’ve never had a problem getting respect from those guys, so I’ve never had to go in on them… It’s always been respect from day one.
On Brian McKnight’s “Show You How Your P**** Works”:
“First of all, he got a Mohawk. He’s 57 years old with a Mohawk. I don’t condone anybody over seven at this point with a Mohawk. The Mohawks have now become cute. And then, I don’t condone the switch between Harvard and then a a bad version of a hood singer.”
