[Video] Stevie J & Mona Scott-Young Insist LHHA is NOT Scripted

Although a number of you watch VH1’s Love & Hip-Hop Atlanta, some of you are under the impression that the show is scripted and/or staged. We’ve seen these comments on Twitter, Facebook and even in the comment section of this site. We’ve interviewed a few of the cast mates, asking them if the show is scripted and all say the same thing–absolutely not. And the show’s executive producer, Mona Scott-Young wants you to know that they don’t script the show either. In an interview with MTV, Mona and cast member, Stevie J talk about the rumors about the show’s production. Mona explained:
“We don’t feed you information. It’s not scripted…That’s the most ridiculous thing that I hear all the time. There are like 40-something people on set. Do you think I can get them all to keep the secret? What do they do with script afterwards, eat it? This is their lives! Maybe what they’re not use to seeing is reality TV, done well.”
She continued:
“They have every right to tell their stories. I think they’re valid stories, and judging by the numbers, they’re stories that people want to see and hear about…But if this is not your cup of tea, there are other great shows on other networks that you may view as well.”
Stevie J explained:
“I just live my life. I don’t even care about the cameras around. I just do what I do…If it shocks the world, then you know, I guess they’re in shock.”
