Kevin Clash, The Voice of Elmo, Officially Resigns from Sesame Street + A Second Accuser Comes Forward
As most of you know, for the past two weeks, negative press has surrounded Sesame Workshop says Elmo puppeteer Kevin Clash. Recently, allegations hit that he had sex with an under-aged youth. A day later, the man recanted his charge. A lawsuit by a second accuser was filed Tuesday, according to attorney Cecil Singleton. TMZ.com reports that a second man has accused Clash of initiating a relationship 20 years ago, when the man was 15, and has now sued him for $5 million, claiming he had only recently become aware of “adverse psychological and emotional effects.” What’s more? Kevin Clash has resigned from “Sesame Street”. Sesame Workshop called the controversy surrounding Clash’s personal life “a distraction that none of us want” and led to his decision to leave the show.
