NFLer Arrested For Bringing Gun to Airport + NY Giants Osi Umenyiora Propses to Girlfriend Leila Lopes

Another NFL’er off the market, with cupid striking again. New York Giant Osi Umenyiora. Last week, the defensive end proposed to his girlfriend, former Miss Universe Leila Lopes (the ex-girlfriend of Russell Simmons). 

The two met during Fashion Week last year, by BJ Coleman (who use to do PR for Kimora Lee Simmons and now has his own pr company called Coleman Entertainment Group). Page Six reports that they’re planning a 2014 wedding.

Probably not a good idea. A NFL’er had the bright idea to bring or leave a handgun in his luggage at a New York airport. Tampa Bay Buccaneers defensive end Da’Quan Bowers was arrested this week, after police found a handgun while he was flying out of La Guardia, heading to Raleigh. No comment from his camp or the NFL as of yet, but he was arraigned Monday on charges of criminal possession of a weapon and posted $10,000 bond.
