Petition Launched To Stop ‘Scandal’ From Going On Hiatus
Well, this is certainly a first–or at least the first we’ve ever heard of such. These days, folks will start a petition for any AND everything. Usually, they revolve around pulling TV shows down or starting grassroots movements for different causes. But apparently, some Gladiator Suit fanatics want their voices heard. A petition has been created to pick up more episodes of Shonda Rhimes’ ‘Scandal’. What’s more? They want the show to stop going on some many extended hiatuses.
The petition, created by TR Mason, states:
There are very few TV shows on prime time television written by, much less starring people of color. The broadcast networks have made great strides in recent years by diversifying the faces we see on prime time TV however there is more that can be done. Putting a show like Scandal on repeated hiatus is a surefire way to lose fans and viewers. Gladiators/Scandalistas/Scandalists everywhere have not gotten over our initial shock that there will be no Scandal AGAIN for 3 more weeks. Instead of whining and complaining, we are doing something about it! Shonda Rhimes is NOT the reason there’s another hiatus. It’s the TV execs at Disney/ABC Television Group. Let your voices and displeasure be heard by contacting Anne Sweeney, the President of ABC Entertainment at

Let her know how unhappy we all are and maybe, just maybe they’ll pick up enough episodes that we Gladiators won’t have to be on hiatus AGAIN against our will. So bombard ABC with your unhappiness by emailing, calling, faxing etc. Mount up Gladiators! Mount up!

I totally agree with this petition. This show is too damn good to keep having us in suspense for 2-3 wks at a time, I mean got dammit…enough is enough already!!!!!
Hi my name is Keesha… and I’m a scandalholic.
LOL.
Scandal is by far the most interesting and intriguing drama on television. Not to mention it is electrifying with superlative writing of a brilliant mind seen only in the imagination of a genius. We want more!!! You must give the people what they want.
I am SO a gladiator!!!!! This hiatus thing is ridiculous! you would think dried-up old ABC would want to keep viewership with their #1 prime-time show??? It doesn’t make good business sense. But I signed the petition- and tried to email- but I guess she shut her email down because it bounced back:-( I too am a Scandal-holic
Wait. What? Are these folks serious. I like the show and all, I see where she’s coming from. But, um, how about get a life. Seriously, to start a petition for a television show to not “take a break” is ultimately telling the world you want to sit around and watch a fictitious character live fantastically, more often. Absolutely asinine.
I do have a life, a very busy one and as a career woman, scandal gives me life. The cases each week i find to be very interesting and those suits worn by Oliva are spectacular. I am not ashamed to say that i am a gladiator.
for you to say get a life because we watch scandal is ridiculous. First of all most hard working women are off by the time scandal come on and that is a perfect way to end your day. A glass of wine and Scandal the perfect life. So yes I will sign the petition. At least we are not sitting around watching stories all day i.e Y&R, Days of our lives etc…. Now those are people that should get a life, a job or something.
I do agree these hiatus are ridiculous. And I have a life, but if you like something why not voice for it because ppl that hate something voice their opinions all the time, so why cant we do it for something we like… smh always that one negative jane.
Lord knows these past couple of weeks have been brutal without scandal on tv – this madness must end – Signed #1 Scandal Addict
