[VIDEO] Ochocinco Makes First Public Statement Since Arrest: ‘I Put Myself In this Situation’
For the past year or so, Chad ‘Ochocinco’ Johnson’s luck continues to get worse. Recently, his name was all over headlines, AGAIN, when he turned himself in to Florida police after a warrant was put out for violating probation stemming from last year’s domestic incident with ex wife, Evelyn Lozada. He’s remained semi-mum about the incident, since it happened and this week, spoke about it for the first time on ESPN’s “First Take”. He explained:
I’m going to be OK. I’m OK now, but I put myself in this situation and I have to deal with everything. With life, I’m at peace with everything. I would love to finish my career off the right way. If it happens, I’m not sure. But I would like to.
Ocho also talked about the fact that he still is awaiting another opportunity to play professional football.
I’m in a position where I have to prove myself again that I can still play. Can I still do it? I’m at the bottom again, like having to prove myself when I first came in [to the NFL] and I was hungry. I got complacent at some point in my career. I thought I had it right. I thought I had made it and figured it all out. I lost the game that I loved and played for years.
Meanwhile, Evelyn has had little, to nothing, to say about her ex’s recent run-ins with the law. I’m sure we will see some of this play out on the upcoming season of Basketball Wives, this summer. [ESPN]
