[UPDATE] Waka Flocka’s Younger Brother Kayo Redd Dies
Extremely sad news for rapper Waka Flocka Flame (real name Juaquin Malphurs). The rapper’s younger brother (who was a budding artist as well), Kayo Redd, died over the weekend. There are conflicting reports as to the cause of his death. Some suggest he committed suicide. There are reports that his death was NOT a homicide. Kayo’s mother, talent manager Debra Atney confirmed the loss of her son and Waka’s brother tweeting:
I just lost another son.
She also had a son who died in a car accident when Waka was 13 years old. Waka tweeted:
God please bless me … Ya Big Brother love you Kayo
Nicki Minaj, who was managed by Debra early on in her career, shared condolences tweeting:
Devastated by the loss of this precious soul… Always so sweet to me… I cant even… Sending prayers and all my love to Deb, Waka, Wooh, Quam, Big Joe, Bimmy, the entire fam… Gone too soon Kayo… Gone way too soon.
According to TMZ, an autopsy will be released this week.
2nd Update: Police investigating Kayo’s death report that he died of a self-inflicted gunshot wound. He was discovered last night in him Georgia home. The autopsy results have not yet been released.
