Oprah Winfrey Tries to Rescue Lindsay Lohan In New Reality Show + OWN Gives Tyler Perry New Series
It’s no secret, actress Lindsay Lohan is spinning out of control. The 27-year-old was introduced to us as a 11-year-old child actress on Disney’s The Parent Trap. Fast forward to the present day and Oprah Winfrey has snagged Lindsay for her own reality show/docu-series titled Lindsay. A teaser of the series has been released showing Lindsay struggling with staying sober. An up close and personal look at her relationships with her parents. Lohan tells OWNs camera,
There’s nothing left in having a drink for me. There’s no party I haven’t gone to, nobody I haven’t hung out with, no situation I haven’t been exposed to.
I don’t want them following me to an AA meeting,” she says of the paparazzi. Asked if she feels like a prisoner, she answers:
Yes – all the time.
Oprah seems to be a bit hands on with helping Lohan get her life on track telling her
This is exactly what everybody said was going to happen and I believed differently. She doesn’t understand. This is her life – you think you have forever. My truth is I really do want you to win…but if that isn’t what you want I’m okay with that. I will tell these guys to pack up and leave today.
What’s more? There’s been unconfirmed reports that Lindsay has been a challenge to work with for the show (showing up late for work, etc.). We hear the executives at OWN are concerned because the actress is so unreliable. The network has secured eight episodes. The show is scheduled to air, Sunday, March 9 at 10 p.m.
In related news, the collaboration between OWN and Tyler Perry continue. Reportedly, OWN is ordering its fourth scripted series — this one based on the multihyphenate’s forthcoming feature film Single Moms Club. The hourlong drama will premiere in the fall and centers on a group of single mothers from different walks of life who are brought together by an incident at their children’s school. The series will be based off of the movie, which stars Terry Crews, Amy Smart and Nia Long. However, the series will cast new talent for the OWN series.
