[WATCH] Kerry Washington Calls Pregnancy A ‘Blessing’, But Remains Tight-Lipped

After months of speculation and an announcement from Us Magazine, Scandal actress Kerry Washington confirmed her pregnancy on the 2014 Golden Globes red carpet. Dressed in a custom white Balenciaga dress and Fred Leighton jewels, Washington glowed as she showed off her growing baby bump.

Access Hollywood caught up with the 36-year-old newlywed and mommy-to-be and discussed her dressing for the ceremony, her pregnancy so far and feeling supported. Being a guru of all things fashion, Kerry opted for a high-end, well known brand to officially make her baby announcement telling hosts:

This is custom Balenciaga and so I feel like Alexander Wang, designed this dress the bump more than for me, which I am delighted about….I really wanted to work with Alex, Balenciaga is such a classic epic label and when they offered and sent me the drawing I was like, ‘that’s it’ and thank god because you’re body changes constantly. The dress had to keep morphing to accommodate.

As expected, stylists and designers were making last-minute adjustments to her growing mid section. She laughed,

Down to the wire fittings because everything keeps changing. You wake up in the morning and you’re like, ‘when did that happen?’…We’ve been adjusting accordingly so that I wouldn’t be truly uncomfortable.

While Kerry is no longer hiding her pregnancy, she’s still a bit elusive about sharing much with the public and media. She did manage to share her spiritual gratitude:

I’m very blessed. I’m truly, truly blessed. Everything is so extraordinary….I have loved every moment of this, I’m just really blessed. That’s the word that keeps coming me because I feel like life is such a wonderful adventure right now.
