[WATCH] Will Smith & Jimmy Fallon Team Up For Hip Hop Dance Duo on The Tonight Show
Will Smith’s roots still lie in hip-hop, where he first began his initial years in stardom. And while he’s ventured on to be one of Hollywood’s brightest stars (in front of and behind the camera), the 45-year-old still has dance moves. How do we know? On Monday, Jimmy Fallon officially kicked off The Tonight Show, his first-ever time hosting the huge night show.
He snagged Will as his first guest. Before their sit-down, the duo channeled their inner dance fever, performing the ‘Evolution of Hip Hop Dancing‘. Some of your favorites included the Running Man, Kid ‘N Play, MC Hammer (also known as the type-writer), The Dougie and a bit of twerking. Check ’em out in action.
After their performance, Will chatted with the new host about checking an item off of his bucket list, sky diving.
He explained that leaping out of a plane was one of the most frightening and terrifying moments of his life. He shared:
You know what happened? I’m 45 right now. And with the state of modern medicine, 90 ya know, we’re all probably gonna hit 90. 90 is like a real thing now. So, I was like, I started thinking This is half time, right? So when you come out for the third quarter, in any sport, the third quarter is an important quarter….So I went. I went to Dubai…It is absolutely terrifying and absolutely the most magnificent thing you’ll ever experience. It taught me so much about fear.
The Tonight Show’s debut with Jimmy included more celeb cameos.
Including Will, fourteen famous folk stopped by, paying the piper. Robert De Niro came out and handed the host a $100 dollar bill, followed by Tina Fey, Joe Namath,Rudy Giuliani, Mariah Carey, Joan Rivers, Kim Kardashian, Seth Rogen, Mike Tyson,Lady Gaga, Lindsay Lohan, Tracy Morgan, Sarah Jessica Parker and Stephen Colbert–all whom handed him cash.
