Mathew Knowles Requests Lower Child Support Payment For 3-Year-Old Son
This certainly doesn’t look good for a family who tries to maintain their privacy. Last month, we updated you on the latest dispute between Beyoncé’s father, Matthew Knowles and Alexsandra Wright, the mother of his son, Nixon. In short, Alexsandra claims that she has not received proper child support for their son.
According to TMZ, this week, a bit of progress has been made. Mathew’s child support has been reduced significantly, because of his reduced income. Reportedly, Beyoncé ‘s father makes significantly less. Last year, he reportedly made $12k, but during his days managing his daughter, he made a whopping $3 million a year.
He’s asked a judge to reduce the $12,000 monthly child support initially requested. Reportedly, the family court judge reduced his child support to $2,485 a month.
In an interview with Inside Edition, Alexsandra shared her disappointment, saying:
This is his child, its a boy, its been 5 years. I’ve never spoken, I’ve been respectful of our relationship. I’ve never talked about it or stepped out of line. I followed the letter to the law, the stipulated judgments to the law. It feels like he’s a little bit of an outlaw and has chosen to not acknowledge any of it and punish me all the way to the finish line
She added:
More than anything he raised two children and was very active in their lives and they turned out very well. So why he’s choosing to not acknowledge his only son, I don’t know. It’s disappointing and also what’s disappointing is that I’m the only parent taking responsibility at this point.
Mathew and Beyonce’s mother, Tina Knowles, divorced in November 2011 after 31 years of marriage. Beyoncé ended her professional ties with her father shortly after.
