Chris Brown’s Mother Sobs As Singer Ordered To Stay In Jail At Least Another Month
Sad news for Chris Brown. On Monday (March 17) the 24-year-old appeared in front of a California judge for his court hearing. In short, the singer, who appeared in court alongside his lawyer Mark Geragos in an orange jumpsuit, was ordered to stay in jail for at least a month after he was arrested for violating probation.
His mother, Joyce Hawkins, appeared in court and reportedly sobbed while he was taken away.
Judge James Brandlin said Chris was kicked out of his rehab program in Malibu after “rubbing elbows” with a female and failing to take a drug test. He also allegedly made a threat to a therapy group, telling them,
I am good at using guns and knives
the judge said. Chris’ lawyer said that he later took a drug test that turned up negative.
As previously reported, he had been staying in a Malibu rehab facility for several weeks as part of his probation for his 2009 assault against singer Rihanna. His ejection from the facility is considered a probation violation.
Brown has another date in front of a Washington, D.C., judge April 17 on a misdemeanor charge. His next court date has been set for April 23.
Singer Ariana Grande had been planning a collaboration with Chris, Don’t Be Gone Too Long.
After hearing that he’d remain in jail, Ariana wrote:
my loves… so obviously some things have changed recently… so we have to delay the dbgtl countdown… some things are out of our control.
Chris’ mother has yet to release a public statement. Do you agree that Chris should remain in jail until his court date or is the judge being too harsh?
