Wendy Williams, Rev. Al Sharpton & Tamron Hall Attend ‘Keepers of the Dream Awards’
On Wednesday (April 9th), Reverend Al Shaprton and The National Action Network (NAN), hosted its 16th Annual Keepers of the Dream Awards. The awards – given each year in April to mark the anniversary of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr’s death, honor those who have continued to advocate for the principles for which Dr. King gave his life. The Keepers of the Dream awards are given by members of the civil rights community who have committed themselves to fairness and racial harmony. Honorees included: Bishop Victor Curry, Founder, Senior Pastor, New Birth Baptist Church, Miami, FL; Deborah Elam, President, GE Foundation & Chief Diversity Officer, GE; Tamron Hall, Host, MSNBC “News Nation” & Co-Host of 9 a.m. hour of NBC’s TODAY; Gerry Hudson, International Executive Vice President, SEIU; Rachel Noerdlinger, Chief of Staff, Chirlane McCray, First Lady of New York City; Don Thompson, President & CEO, McDonald’s Corporation and Michael Weinstein, President, AIDS Healthcare Foundation. Wendy Williams received a surprise Keepers of the Dream Award. Check out some of the event photos.
