[Exclusive] Married To Medicine’s Mariah Huq Reveals What Ended Friendship With Quad Webb-Lunceford, Drama With New Cast + Reality TV Pressure
Mariah: She’s not one of the ‘A-list’ cast members. I say ‘Where’s Waldo, Where’s Kari’ because she will just pop up at events and we’ll be like ‘what the hell is she still doing here?’ She and Toya are still friends so she’s not a cast member but you will see Kari here and there.
Jasmine BRAND: I asked you, if you had it your way who would you not want to come back, you said you were on the fence about Toya. Why didn’t Kari come back?
Mariah: I think Kari kind of put herself in a situation where she no longer fit in with the women. I think that happened on the reunion, I think she kind of self destructed honestly. I can’t take any credit for that. I think she put herself higher than the other women so why would you want to hang out with this group of women.
Jasmine BRAND: So we wont see that much of Kari?
Mariah: No.
Jasmine BRAND: Was she asked to be a return?
Mariah: I don’t know. I honestly don’t know that.
Jasmine BRAND: So the two new cast members (Dr. Heavenly Kimes and Lisa Nicole Cloud) , did you have anything to do with casting them?
Dr. Heavenly Kimes was on my pilot 3 years ago and it’s funny because she was the one I got a little push back about because she was 100 lbs heavier at the time, she was still a firecracker, I still thought she had star-power, great, she lived a very, very wealthy lifestyle, she’s a dentist married to a doctor. So I’ve always thought Heavenly was great for TV, she’s what you would call reality TV gold. [The other young lady] I have nothing to do with that.
In the last interview, you expressed that you weren’t surprised that Quad became one of the fan favorites and spoke greatly on her personality, so, what happened? [Editor’s Note: Jasmine re-read a complimentary quote that Mariah said about Quad during first season]
Dang. That tears me up to hear that but I stand by that. In spite of everything that’s happened I still stand by that. I think what’s happened is fame. I think TV tears people apart. What role I had to play in that, I’m learning as you guys learn. I didn’t know things were as bad as they are. I think Quad felt a certain way
