Chris Brown Returns to DC, Rejects Plea Deal
Prosecutor Kevin Chambers said in court that he rejected a deal to plead guilty to misdemeanor assault and receive a sentence of time served.
In the Washington case, the Chris’ attorney, Mark Geragos, said defense lawyers and prosecutors couldn’t agree on a statement of facts about what happened outside the W hotel. He told the press:
They wanted him to read from a script that wasn’t true.
According to the Associated Press, the attorneys had been in talks until hours before the hearing, but could not resolve the issue. A trial for Chris was scheduled for Sept. 8. It is expected to take a day and a half. Afterward, Chris made no mention of his appearance on social media. Chris’ girlfriend, Karrueche Tran, was not present.
