[EXCLUSIVE] Tyler Perry Urges Judge to Speed Up Lawsuit: 8K Jobs Are At Risk
theJasmineBRAND.com has exclusively learned that Tyler Perry is pleading with a federal court judge to speed up a legal battle over his new Georgia movie studio, stating that if it isn’t expedited that 8K jobs are at risk.
A local entertainment company filed a federal lawsuit earlier this month, accusing the 44-year-old of committing fraud in his attempt to build a film studio at a former Georgia army post Fort McPherson.
The company, Ubiquitous Entertainment Studios, claimed they had been planning to build their own studio at the location since 2011. They wanted to purchase 80 acres of the 488 acre post. They were in talks but were then told they had to wait until 2014. Then in June the city was quoted as stating Perry was going to buy the majority of the post for $33 million dollars. Then the people behind the port voted to approve the sale to Perry and the other acres to be given to the city and the Veterans Affairs hospital.
