Young Money disputed the band claiming they didn’t owe them a dime because they never had the recording budget approved by them before recording. They demanded the suit be dismissed.

Then on October 9th, the boy band fired back at their former record label’s motion to dismiss their case. They explained their response is nonsense … especially since Lil Wayne personally,

Urged the artist to commence recording immediately and not worry about waiting for the Guaranteed Advance, assuring Plaintiff that Cash Money would be covering the recording costs and expenses Plaintiff was incurring in connection with the completion of the first album.

They add,

on or around July 20, 2013, Ronald Williams, co-founder and principal of Defendant Cash Money, met with a representative of Plaintiff on Artist’s tour bus and confirmed to Plaintiff that Cash Money was involved with the Artist and that Cash Money would like to set up a time to conduct a listening session of the first album

Further, Cash Money also posted a video online that showed Birdman with his arms around the boys telling fans to look out for the great music and new singles coming out with YMCMB. The band says not only were the label exes aware of the recording budget, but so was Lil Wayne and they never once mentioned they weren’t okay with the budge.

The court docs blast the record labels saying their, “unfair business practices included, among other things, “encouraging, acknowledging and authorizing Plaintiff to incur numerous debts and obligations to vendors such as producers and recording studios in connection with the production of the first album despite maintaining no intention to reimburse and/or pay for such costs.

They are demanding the lawsuit seeking damages over $600K continue on and Lil Wayne’s motion to dismiss be denied. See the EXCLUSIVE Court Docs.
