August Alsina Recalls Seeing Deceased Brother While In 3 Day Coma [VIDEO]
everything before myself. Nobody else knew what I was feeling besides me. When I went off stage and came back, I knew this ain’t good. But at the same time, Jordan played with the flu. Why can’t I do what I have to do?
Alsina has always been self-motivated and prides himself on being “self made,” acknowledged with his well-known tattoo on his face. Yet, as many of his fans know, one of his big motivators is his late brother, Melvin La’Branch III, who was shot and killed in 2010. Alsina told The Breakfast Club that while fans were panicking around him on the stage, he had a different experience.
I could feel that and I could see it. What’s even more special is during that time, when I was down for those three days, I saw my brother. The conversation was like ‘What’s up?’ ‘What you want to talk about?’ It’s s*** like that that shows me that there’s something so much bigger.
Alsina is currently co-headlining with Usher on “The UR Experience Tour,” and doesn’t plan on stopping anytime soon. “I feel like if I’m still, I’m stagnant. If I’m stagnant, I then have an issue in my mind. I know I have a lot of work to do, I can’t be sitting down.”
Alsina has been able to reap the benefits of his hard work and hustle. A few years ago, Alsina tweeted that he wouldn’t know how he would react if he met Beyonce.
Recently, he had the opportunity to meet Queen Bey at an event.
She was the coolest person. That felt good to me for Hov and Bey to know what I’m doing and just be aware of what I got going on and the movement.
Alsina has taken his experiences and decided to find the positivity. “I’m working on waking up positive everyday. It’s definitely a hard time…but you got a lot to smile about so why not?”
