Grand Jury Declines to Indict Officer in Death of Michael Brown + Celebs Share Outrage
Thousands of people rallied in LA and New York, to protest Monday’s decision. President Barack Obama appealed for calm and understanding, pleading with both protesters and police to show restraint.
We are a nation built on the rule of law, so we need to accept that this decision was the grand jury’s to make.
Celebrities including Gabrielle Union, Reggie Bush, Charlie Sheen, Chris Rock, LeBron James and more have shared their displeasure of the grand jury’s decision:
We’ve investigated ourselves and found we did nothing wrong. Now we return to our regularly scheduled systematic & routine physical, psychological & economic violence against brown people. We are accountable for nothing. We will change nothing. We have always done this. Thank you for contorting yourselves, no matter the decade, in defense of our barbarism. We are disgusting. #Ferguson A photo posted by Jesse Williams (@ijessewilliams) on
