Petition Launched to Cancel Reality Show ‘Sorority Sisters’ + Watch the 1st Episode
Rumor has it, a few folk are none too pleased at VH1’s new reality TV show, Sorority Sisters.
Last night, the show officially premiered. A day later, a petition has begun to circulate, asking the public stop watching the show.
Do not allow VH1 to use our beloved sororities as a mean to continue to fuel negative stereotypes of black women. By supporting and watching their new show “Sorority Sisters,” you are helping aid the destruction of our core values and allowing a network to cheapen our legacy by making a mockery of it on national television. Over 100 years of positive guidance has been pumped into our communities through each of our organization’s initiatives. By supporting this show, it undermines our founders, our chapters, our leadership, and most importantly

I will be signing this petition – and not watching! No interest AT ALL.
I’m an AKA. I’m going to watch at least one episode and give it a fair shake, before judging it.
I am not a sister, always wanted to pledge, I have loved an admired the thought of sisterhood…I agree please cancel smh…. too much negativity knot sisters of anykind at all
More “Rachetness and Classless Behavior”….$$$ will make you lose you mind.
Since you cant discuss or show doctrine about black Sororities, cut it off!A show promoting black Sororities or Frats should be informative.
Its not informative. You have got to be smarter then that. It is a disgrace
I believe you misunderstood my comment.I was saying that there are things about sororities and frats that they cant talk about. If your gonna do a show about these black organizations it should be informative.Since its not gonna be about that, get rid of it.Im smart enough to know that.
I’m sorry but…same show different characters. This is another LHH, BBW, Housewives show. And yet we all watch those shows. But this ONE needs to be canceled??? Why because it makes us look bad…and the others don’t. I’m not saying that the show is right…I’m just saying we need to feel this way about all these shows and not just this one.
LHHNY has a man facing federal drug charges, another man sleeping with two women and having an 8th child, countless fights, I can go on. Just something to think about.
The other reality shows are people representing themselves, their own brand. This show claims to represent certain sororities. The girls are not speaking for themselves, they are speaking as representatives of an organization and castmembers refer to each other as such. This is the difference. I agree that none of these shows show the castmembers in them in a positive light.
Very true! Thanks for helping me understand because I honestly didnt even think of it that way when I commented.
Just get a whyte gurl and leave all these ratchet, petty and materialistic black women alone.
These women are suppose to be educated but they act so childish!
