(EXCLUSIVE) ‘Crazy Sexy Cool’ Screenwriter Demands Pebbles Lawsuit Dismissed
She reportedly states that the former TLC manager did indeed have control over the members’ bank accounts for a period of time.
Further, she claims that Pebbles did not get TLC members contracts that were industry standard and didn’t always pay them what they were owed on their deals.
In the docs, Lainer says that Pebbles is being untruthful when she claims she didn’t have a business relationship with the lawyer she introduced the girls to at the start of their career to review the contracts she had put together.
The screenwriter denies she wrote any part the movie knowing it was a lie and says that her work is actually protected by the first amendment regardless.
She also says that the movie portrayed the truth and the only issue that Pebbles seems to have is the opinion the girls had of her that was shown in the film. Lainer says Pebbles cannot prove that her reputation was damaged, especially to the tune of $40 million dollars and is demanding the lawsuit be dismissed. See the court docs.
