(EXCLUSIVE) Boxing Champ Andre Ward Settles Legal Battle With Promoter
explained the California law prohibits a company from signing people into deals for longer than 7 years. He demanded the contract be voided and he be allowed to leave the company.
Looks like Andre got his wish, because the legal battle was dismissed on January 6th. Both parties filed court documents informing the court they have reached a settlement in the case where both agree to dismiss the entire lawsuit and each pay their own legal bills. Interesting, the case was settled a mere 3 days before Andre signed on to be represented by Roc Nation Sports.
