(EXCLUSIVE) Brooklyn Nets Sue Physical Therapist Over Illegal Use Trademark
The company says their trademarks are worth millions of dollars and well known to the public due to the NBA games reaching a huge audience.
They explain that in March 2013 they entered into an agreement with the physical therapy company to license their Brooklyn Nets trademark and the deal said they had to approve all usage, which included the company’s Facebook and Instagram pages.
However, the sponsorship agreement ended in April 2014 — but the physical therapist continues to use their logos and name to promote themselves as a sponsor. The NBA company sent off a cease in desist in October 2014, but the physical therapist reportedly haven’t complied with the legal letter and promotes their company as and official sponsor of the Brooklyn Nets on social media and their business cards.
BNL is demanding an injunction against the company from calling themselves a sponsor and damages for the willful infringement on their trademarks.
