theJasmineBRAND.com exclusively reports, Ne-Yo’s battle with his ex-girlfriend and mother of his children, Monyetta Shaw, over him being legally recognized as the father to their 2 children has come to a end — with the singers lawsuit being closed on March by a Georgia judge.
Last October, Ne-Yo (real name Shaffer Smith) filed a lawsuit against his ex-girlfriend/baby mama Shaw (who also stars on VH1’s Atlanta Exes) in Georgia court. The singer filed the lawsuit demanding a court order that stated he was legally recognized as the father to their 2 children – a daughter and a son.
The lawsuit for legitimation is most likely the first step to him wanting to have a court determine child support and custody something he is not able to do unless he is legally the father — since Georgia law doesn’t allow him to take his ex to court unless the child was born to married parents.
