(EXCLUSIVE) NBA’s Stephen Jackson Settles Nasty Divorce
Stephen says his wife filed for divorce strategically, since their pre-nup states her pay out would be correlated to his net worth at the time she filed, and she filed while he was playing with the NBA and at the moment he is no longer with a team. He says she filed as early as possible to lock in a higher settlement — despite continuing to have a relationship with him. He demanded the divorce be dismissed.
However, it appears Stephen had a change of heart and reached a confidential settlement with his estranged wife to finalize the divorce.
According to docs filed in Georgia Court on March 12th, the judge presiding over the case granted Stephen and Renata a final judgement and decree of divorce, meaning they are both officially single and no longer married.
The docs note that the parties reached a agreement on all issues and due to their deal the divorce is complete. The former couple also signed a parenting agreement for their minor child which lays out their custody and even states they not to trash talk the other to their kid. See the exclusive court docs.
